OxSen® - Oxygen Trim System

Heat loss resulting
from excess air is the single greatest waste of energy in any
combustion system, including industrial boilers and high
temperature furnaces. With an OxSen®
air/fuel ratio trim system, this heat loss can be reduced, and,
the annual fuel costs significantly reduced.
OxSen®
may be applied as a periodic or continuous oxygen monitoring
system designed to operate in the most rigorous of industrial
enviroments. By cointinuously monitoring and automatically
compensating for variations in excess air, OxSen®
accurately maintains the optimum combustion efficiency of the
system under all conditions. The result is a substantial fuel
savings, and a reduction in nitrogen oxide (NOx)
emissions.
The OxSen®
is not one single product, but a complete line of oxygen
monitoring and control systems designed to operate in extreme
industrial environments where the temperature of the combustion
products may range up to 2800 degrees Fahrenheit and contain
chemically aggressive impurities and particulate matter.

Probes

The OxSen®
probe continuously measures the oxygen content of the combustion
products. The zirconium oxide cell emits a signal that
corresponds to the oxygen content of the flue gas. This signal is
monitored and any variation from the desired air/fuel ratio
"setpoint" is corrected automatically by adjusting the
fuel or air flow.

- Hot and cold sampling probes are available with
several optional features, including a weather-proof
casing and a separation chamber. The Model 2800 hot probe
is capable of withstanding temperatures in the monitored
gas of up to 2800°F.
The Model 3100 probe is capable of withstanding
temperatures in the monitored gas of up to 1100°F.
Rugged construction and ceramic internal parts make the
OxSen®
probe durable and dependable under the worst industrial
environments.
- Probes are easy to install and to maintain. In
most cases, installation does not require shutdown of the
apparatus that is to be monitored. Oxygen cell
replacement, including recalibration, takes less than ten
minutes. No special gases are required for recalibration
as atmospheric air is used to purge and calibrate the
instrument. The desired operating oxygen levels or
"setpoints" are selected and manually
programmed into the controller.

OXY-11 Control Panel
A closed loop control constantly maintains
optimum efficiency of the of the sytem without operator
intervention. the controller receives the signal from the probe
and automatically delivers the appropriate signal to trim the
air/fuel ratio to the "setpoint". The cabinet's front
panel provides a visible readout of the oxygen level.
OxSen® control systems are available in both analog and
digital (microprocessor) models. Both models offer integrated
sensor purge and sensor calibration, using ambient air in place
of special calibration gases.
